Maldivian Democracy and Lunacy

Military Chief Moosa Jaleel and Police Commissioner Ahmed Faseeh
summoned to 241 Committee of the Majlis. Clearly in violation of the
Maldivian Constitution and Contempt of Supreme Court Ruling.

The problem with Maldives is the alienation of the opposition by the govt. and the heavy handedness of the armed forces with the opposition parties. President Nasheed is just too immature to be the president that could bring the people together. Instead the hatred and vengeance of his strategy is forcing people out on to the streets. The young democracy of Maldives has frustrated the people by the slow pace for development and lack of law and order under the MDP (the ruling party). It seems incredible that the man, who came claiming transformation of a nation, has taken the nation 30 years back. From the start the regime seems to be on the defensive. It's like a battle for Male every street is crumbled on to protests, police assaults are further alienating the people.

The campaign is assiduously spreading into the atolls.  The danger is that once the entire nation plunges into this hopelessness the imperative of decent living no longer hold valid and a melancholic picture of the streets ruled by gangs and vandalism will be painted. It has been in the making for some time now. Political parties are using these gangs to intimidate the opposition resulting in the gangs getting better funding, organized and feared by the citizens. MPD commands the largest number of gangsters, the local police fear these gangs because action taken against these gangs could result in suffering of family members and relatives.

Raako Moosa Maniku
Radical MDP members like Alhan Fahmy and Raako Moosa openly refused to comply with rulings of the lower court and the Supreme Court. Can anyone imagine this?  Yet the Military and the Police are defending an apostate government. What is wrong with our Armed Forces and the Police? Don't they have brains to see this rouge party hijacking the whole nation? What benefit are these armed forces getting? Do they think they would be able to get away from this forever?  Soon the law will get hold of them, then it would too late to remind themselves of what they should have done and not done.

The evil that men do lives after them. Today the Maldivian Military top brass can bask with the Rouge politicians over beer and wine. But tomorrow when the patience of the citizens runs thin, they would come to face the bullets of this cruel and unjust military.

What confuses me is, why is the military and the police trying to defend just one lunatic president who is again and again out rightly, abusing the power and conspicuously and vehemently defeating the spirit of freedom by moving against the constitution? Does this lunatic mean more to Maldives than the 300,000 people of Maldives who doesn't support this man? Is defending this man more to Maldives, than the pain of the citizens? I think the time has come now for the officials of the Armed Forces to stand up for the rights of the citizens. In fact it is in your oath! This President has lost the legitimacy of representing the Maldivian people. Doesn't the armed force have conscience? Conscience is the chamber of justice and without this, it's a group of mercenaries.

The Nation’s top lawyers, the Supreme Court, the High Court, the credible politicians, the senior wise citizens, the educated folks of the nation, and the parlors of ordinary folks of the nation are saying President Nasheed is wrong and is now operating beyond the jurisdiction of the President. He is clearly is a threat to justice in the Maldives now. In fact he admitted that he would do things outside the law if he thinks he has to do. Isn’t this enough acknowledgment of the illegitimacy of the president? Despite all this, Maldivian Armed Forces ignorantly, like blind men are taking orders from an illegitimate government. Wonder where these people got educated if at all they have? What is the justification army officials like Moosa Jaleel, and Ibrahim Didi have for the breach of contempt, law and the trust of the Maldivian People have when they are out of office?

Justice and power must be brought together, so that whatever is just may be powerful, and whatever is powerful may be just. When Justice takes its course then authority and legitimacy of the legal promise must be respected. If not this country is not different from the Wild West ruled by the gun.

The Supreme Court's verdict is the insurance which we have on our lives and property. Obedience is the premium which we pay for it. Yet today MDP is trying to shake the whole justice system, just because the thuggery they employ on political opponents are not entertained by our justice system.

In conclusion Honorable Judges of the Maldivian Justice System, Justice must never mirror evil; Justice must always be a mirror for Evil so that all may see. For the Armed Forces, your failure to stand for what is morally right is the prelude to what is criminally wrong. No one has ever regretted doing what the people of a nation wanted.

"There is no greater breach of the public trust than knowingly misleading the country into war. In a democracy, we simply cannot tolerate the abuse of this trust by the government". Senator John Kerry

When Good Men Do Nothing

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” that’s not just what Edmund Burke said, It is true and absolutely correct. In whichever way you look Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.

Time and again those who profess to be good seem to clearly outnumber those who are evil, yet those who are evil seem to prevail far too often. Seldom do numbers determine the outcome, what matter is if those who claim to be good men are willing to stand up and fight for what’s right. We have seen this sad and awful scenario being played out over and over again throughout the world amongst different peoples, and it is happening right here in Maldives today.

When good men do nothing, they get nothing good done. To be good, one must do good. It is sad and disturbing to note that too many good Politicians and the many Independent institutions formed by acts of Majlis to secure and protect sanity in our society are doing nothing. They are standing idly by, they are mere spectators. They are sitting on the sidelines instead of actively participating and working for the good. If good wins, they’d be happy to join in the celebration though they did nothing to produce the victory. If evil wins, they would still as traitors to the constitution and people of Maldives have secured their mean and personally vested interest and claim it was not their apathy that helped produce the undesirable result.

When good men do nothing, evil triumphs, and evil men must be opposed. Allah commands to all those who are good, not just to avoid evil but actively oppose it. All those who do nothing about sin and evil, do in fact help the sin and evil to prevail. One who is silent when evil is around him becomes a partaker with evil. The silence of the people speaks volumes of their indecisiveness and inaction. Their failure to stand up, speak up and speak out permits wicked and evil men to run rampant. The failure to stand for what is morally right is the prelude for what is criminally wrong.

To the Police and the Military of the Maldives I have to say "He who is not with the Law is against the Law”. In the fight against evil there is no middle ground, there is no gray area, and no neutrality. Those who are not actively and vigorously fighting against evil are helping evil to triumph. As law enforcement people you know that the Force of Law will catch up with its perpetrators, if now today, tomorrow, and you shall be judged by your own actions.

When good men do nothing, they are no longer good. Many have the mistaken notion that good is merely the absence of doing that which is wrong. Not so! One is good not merely because he does no evil, but because he is actively working for what is good.

The conduct of this government is absolutely shameful. What about those supposedly "good" men who do nothing? Those who stand on the other side and watch the constitution of Maldives is being slandered, crushed and devoured, they cease being innocent bystanders and idle spectators. Their failure to act not only allows evil to triumph, but makes them just as guilty as the spiritual cannibals they refuse to reprove and rebuke. Today, the Chief Judge of the Judiciary of Maldives has been kidnapped on the orders of President Nasheed, tomorrow it may be you, or your loved one.

Be not deceived; those who fail or refuse to do good in the face of evil are sowing dangerous seeds. They are doing nothing good they are helping evil to win and have ceased being good and have become partakers of the evil they did nothing to stop. And fear not the consequences of opposing the evil of the wrong doers, for Allah favors those who fear Him.

Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not sit by and do nothing. Stand up and be counted, speak up against evil and speak out against evil men and their evil deeds. A person may cause evil to others not only by his actions, but by his inactions, and in either case; he is justly accountable to them for the injury.

"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Freighted President angered by size and scale of Demonstration spends Christmas in Dhonnakulhi.

Crowds as far as the eye can see gathered on Dec 23 2011  to demonstrate
against  President Nasheed's Government  extremist policies in Maldives.

The message that echoed from the mass demonstration organized against MDP Government on December 23, 2011 was very clear. Nasheed interpreted the call as usual in its very extreme view; not unusual of an extremist.

What he and the radical government refuse to accept is that prostitution is viewed as a form of slavery in civilized societies and not as liberation of women. In many countries it is banned by law. Although it’s illegal here in the Maldives, Mr. Nasheed and his cabinet seems to view it as a profession worthy of women and a viable source of income for them folks.

The demonstration was organized by a consortium of political and social parties; Adhalath Party was one of them. They had a five point agenda for Nasheed.
  1. Close the Prostitution houses run in “Male and other inhabited islands registered as Spa’s” during the previous regime.
  2. Withdraw permission if granted for Al El (Israeli Airline) to land in Maldivian Airports
  3. Remove the Buddhist Statues that were put up in Addu to commemorate the opening of the SAARC Summit
  4. Stop the selling of Alcohol in inhabited islands, and contain it to Tourist Resort only
  5. Nasheed apologize to the people for the blasphemous speech given by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillai while on invitation from the President in Maldives to the Citizens Majlis (the Parliament)

The Consortium demanded government closes Spas and Massage Parlors registered in Male and other inhabited islands that engaged in prostitution, not the spa-baths in the resorts. Nasheed who calls himself a moderate, more often than never, always took the extreme view and subsequent action. In this case too he has behaved as an extremist.

The mammoth demonstration of freighting proportion by Maldivian standards went on from 16:00 to the early hours of the next day. Despite repeated efforts, by the Home Minister and the President, the police refused to step in to breakup the peaceful and highly organised demonstration. Nasheed, mad and obsessed opted to take the extremist stand on the five demands to the Government.

Angered by MDP’s failure to organize a counter demonstration, Nasheed retreated to a Donnakulhi Tourist Resort in the north of the country  where he participated in Christmas Celebrations and left for Sri Lanka on (invitation) said a press release from the President’s Office.

Driven by free mason philosophies for the Nasheed’s government staying aloft is becoming a daily fight against established norms in this country. This fight against government and nation has brought the country to its knees. Who prevails is to be seen in 2013.

Signs of decay within the party are already visible, two days ago the Minister of Finance and his Deputy and the state minister for Finance and the State Financial Advisor all resigned in just a span of two days. Nasheed should be looking for Aladdin’s lamp in Muliaage.

The opposition has wowed to ban MDP after coming to power in 2013 for the mayhem and disruption MDP has caused and brought to these peaceful islands and people that thrived a smiling economy.

The Madman of Maldives

Article forwarded by Moosa Ali/Udheresvilla, Male

Why should we Maldivians ever want to support Mohamed Nasheed (Anni)? Just take a deep breath and think for a while my fellow countrymen. He came to us the name of freedom promising to bring true democracy, instead took us from the frying pan and put us into the fire.

I have ten sentences that will describe the evil President Nasheed has brought upon us:
  1. The economy has been ransacked and has hit rock bottom. We will all feel the pinch.
  2. Nasheed and his activists enjoy on the hard earned money of the citizens collected as taxes.
  3. The social terrain has been torn apart.  Friendly neighbors are now enemies, the good manners have been replaced with hooliganism and gansterism.
  4. Criminals jailed for murder and violent crimes are released from jail to streets to terrorize the people.
  5. Security has been replaced with insecurity, now after dusk Male city turns into a violent may heaven for nocturnal people in MDP camp smoking pot and hashish.
  6. Law and Order has been substituted by chaos and disobedience to the law, keeping the Armed forces and Police under his control, he directly disregards the court rulings and parliament’s deliberations.
  7. Nasheed Uses the Armed Forces to scare warn independent media and involve in acts beyond their jurisdiction. He instructs Police not to arrests the MDP gangs that terrorizing the citizens.
  8. Issues orders to disrupt tourism which is the only major source of revenue to the Maldives
  9. Aids and abet corruption and misuse state funds, pay parliament members from state funds to pass his regulation
  10.  Looks upon the citizens as the enemy and defame Maldivian in the international arena.

Do you deny what I have said? the list is long and endless. The question I have to all good Maldivians is;  Is Nasheed worth to be our President for a minute?  You decide certainly I will not give any support to this Misled Madman.

Serious Abuse of Diplomatic Protocol by the Maldivian Government

Uploaded: 10/24/2011

Minister of Foreign Affairs
Mr. Ahmed Naseem

MDP Chairman
Mr. Reeko Moosa Maniku
The state of mind of the members of MDP Pollitt bureau is evident from this document uploaded to scribd.com on 24th October 2011. It is a fabrication by the MDP Government Ranks and is a blatant abuse of Diplomatic Protocol that tantamount to nothing but forgery and abuse of authority.   This ploy by the MDP was covered with a letter supposedly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  Although it was not printed on the Official Letter Head of the Ministry, the official rubber stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the signature of the Foreign Minister Ahmed Naseem were on the letter.

Minister Naseem and his family had been involved in the plots to overthrow the government in the coup attempts of 1980, 1983, and 1988 the latter which was the worst that Maldives ever say in modern history, the November 3rd Attack on Maldivian Sovereignty with the help of Tamil Guerrilla that were fighting for a separate homeland in Sri Lanka.  Raised to ranks by radical President Mohamed Nasheed (Nephew), Naseem still seems to maintain his deceptive and murky mindset even on issues of national concern.

Little do the Minister and the Pollitt Bureau of the MDP realize that involving and thus implicating International Organizations like the UN and the UNDP in their national political pranks and tomfooleries fall short of civilized behavior expected of ruling parties and governments.  On the other hand it is not strange for a person like President Nasheed with the brain set little more than that of a teenager, to advice and motivate cronies to engage in discreditable activities such as demonstrating against the very judiciary handpicked and appointed by him, and publish documents and posts on the internet such as that referred to above.

Whilst there is little understanding and appreciation for the petty Political pranks and tomfooleries of national political parties within the UN framework, I am sure the UNDP and the family of UN organizations, condemn such acts. The simple justification that anyone could have done it is insufficient, when the signature of the Minister and rubber stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appear on the covering letter to the document, the responsibility clearly lies on the Government of Maldives to find those perpetrators and stop such stupid and unqualified acts by senior officials of the Government. Given these harsh realities this Government could only be portrayed as been run by a bunch of Eighth Graders on summer holiday in Maldives.

Is this how we citizens of Maldives want our country and government to be perceived as? Everything is in disarray, our social fabric to our Economy, and now Diplomatic protocols and practices are being abused and falling apart.  To all the Maldivian Voters I say, Let us all call this Holiday frenzy to an end and get serious.  2013 is up around the bend, and we should use fair judgment and rational thinking in selecting our next government and its leaders.  Dire and desperate as we may be, and tired and overwhelmed by the long and difficult five years under MDP rule, do not get taken away by their CASH for the a VOTE program to remain in power for another term.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH; we shall play by the written rule not the rule of the MOB or MOB DRIVEN PARTY’s such as MDP

Anni hidden character exposed

Before coming to power Mohamed Nasheed promised the world to the Maldivian people. He portrayed himself as a true democrat, many learned Maldivians believed this fox in sheep skin and they sacrificed their money, time and energy and did all they could in all honesty to bring down the thirty year old regime in the hope of having freedom and democracy. One year down the line the fox in sheep skin was exposed.

Just in the nursery fable, when the little Red Riding Hood asked the fox who was in her grandmother’s bed, “what big teeth have you got Grandma”, the fox replied, “All the better to eat you”. Addressing a group of supporters in Alifushi, Anni gave an astonishing exposure into his character he said “when my party people come for help I will help them, but when people not in my party come to me, I will show them how mean and cruel I would be, and they wouldn’t even imagine that”.

This phrase alone lost the parliament vote for MDP. Subsequently Anni the president has been endlessly battling to execute those people, who did not vote for him, and he hasn’t succeeded in doing so to date. The battle rages on with advisors from Britain, Israel and India to no avail, just only failures.

Trying to control the independent institutions to a greater extent have succeeded. But still the very judiciary which was selected by him now working for justice is moving against his mob centered strategy. It reminds me of the 1930 in US when the mob was virtually ruling cities like Chicago and New York. There is absolutely nothing different, here in Maldives its Asians and local settings. Strategy is the same.

Adolf Hitler Reincarnate
President Mohamed Nasheed
of Maldives.
The Maldivian people, waiting to get hold of this half cranky, character Anni with no sense of shame or respect to the very people who voted for him. Behaves and acts as though he is the reincarnate of Adolf HITLER.  Little does he realize that this small tiny soul was once on the streets of Maldives getting bashed and dragged like a weak mouse, acting the tyrant now with the backing of the Police and Armed Forces of Maldives? It is only a matter of time; the citizens of Maldives will be moved beyond the breaking point. Then no sea would be deep enough, no wall will be high enough, no army would be strong enough to stop the anger and the wrath of Maldivians with blood on their chests, despite the wounds will march forward to bring down the tyrant and his armies.

Beasts of the Dives - Ahmed Shaheed Dr.

The Poem from Dr. Ahmad Shaheed (Special Rapporteur)

"Ahmed Shaheed Shall we then sing Beasts of England my way? :))

Beasts of the Dives, Oh! Beasts of the Islands,
Beasts of every island and clime,
Hearken well and spread my tidings
Of the golden future time (fat hopes)

Soon and late the day is coming,
Tyrant Man shall be overthrown,
And the fruitful fields of dives
Shall be trod by beasts of burden alone

Rings shall vanish to be placed by the mob,
Taxes on our back, exempted for the mob,
Bit and spur shall rust forever,
Cruel whips shall be cracked by only the mob

To make the Rich more we’ll tax the poor,
Feed the poor oats and say a fib,
Clover, beans, and mangel-wurzel
Shall be ours upon that day (not

Dreaded will be the fields of the Dives,
Mucky shall its waters be,
Bitterer yet shall blow its breezes
On the day we set the mob a free

Till that day we all will ploy,
Though we die before it breaks;
The beasts of burden like geese and turkeys,
All must toil, whilst we relish our freedom

PRESCRIPTION BEGGING OFFICIALY LAUNCHED BY IGMH

I believe that the MDP Government has officially launched its "Prescription Begging" program for the sick and needy. Please be ready with at least Rf. 50.00 in your hand to give out, when they come knocking at your door. After all although Anni and the rest of the gang are in France, Norway and Italy, those who ill afford are here knocking at your door. HELP them.

Madhana is soon to announce bankruptcy due to over expenditure and mismanagement (a symptomatic characteristic of MDP). Mr. Anni has already announced that with effect from January 2012, a new and much better medical insurance program will replace Madhana.... That's it.

Since MDP came to office in 2008, Madhana is headed by a person who have served term in jail for stealing a laptop from a shop.  ... The inevitable is here .

Download these documents, and distribute them freely, Perhaps it may prompt some rich guy to lend a helping had to the poor lady and his desparate family..  We hope that in so doing, it will put a stop to his insanity by MDP.

State of Maldives today (Poem)

(Dear Matthiasisoke, here is an peom for Maldives you may publish this freely on your Heywalla2013, and Thank you for your effort.)

Economy on a downhill,
Hunger on the rise,
Poverty on every street corner,
The Corner shop shut for ever,
The Yazeed of MIRA knocking on every door  and
The citizens on a bandwagon to hell.
Is this what we wanted in the change?.

Street tricks becoming government policy.
Street kids becoming government officials,
Street management getting neglected,
Street smart becoming important
Are we on the streets?

Skilled in protests, the answers to our prayers.
Skilled in protests, is what we consider great.
Skilled in protests, our leaders are,
Skilled in protests, our children aiming for.
Why do we need to study?

Cheating  to citizens our strategy.
Keep citizens wandering  our objective
Rob the citizens our tactics.
Believe in our lies our Euphoria.
Are we alive?

Sick and Tired the citizens of hearing the lies.
Filling the corridors of hospitals, crumbling with flies.
Waiting for a better day with open eyes,
When would we be able to sleep with closed eyes.

Why do you keep on making us hear your song
Telling us how you are changing right from wrong
'Cause if you really want to hear our views
"You haven't done nothing"!

What is the Political future of our country?

President Mohamed Naheed
MDP (Mob Driven Party)
President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom
PPM (Please Pray for Maldives)

The Birth of Progressive Peoples Movement (PPM), and its literal merging with Peoples Alliance Party (PAP), is seen by many as a family conglomeration engineered by Mr. Yameen Abdul Gayoom, seizing an opportunity for a family come back to power.

It’s true; MDP popularity is now at an all-time low across the country and it has been losing support.  It is difficult to gauge how this party will fair in the 2013 elections.  For sure, there is no party with the strength and legs that will sign an alliance with the MDP. People and political insiders of MDP alike have lost trust in the party and its leadership.  MDP has transformed itself from the (Maldivian Democratic Party) to the (Most Distrusted Party) in the Maldives.

What the game plan running up to the 2013 election would be is the multi-million dollar question.  In all likelihood MDP will have to go solo.  Running solo, it will not be able to secure 51% of the votes to retain power.  Here is a rationale. Since coming to power in 2008, MDP governed with vengeance and misgiving, and we the people are sick and tired to our teeth, and will respond with vengeance and misgiving.

Sources close to GMR has made it clear that finance will be made available for MDP to get voted into office.  So in all likely hoods MDP will pump money into the electorate, through their (CASH FOR VOTES) plan in the 2013. Will this make a difference in the minds of the suffering majority of the Maldivian suffrage?  I’d rather not contemplate on the outcome.  Here’s a response.  “Once bitten twice shy”, “A goat that scaled a fence will clamber another” there is the Dhivehi version of this too.

So no matter how guided one is by the belief that the twenty-third hour will see the MDP’s cash for vote program turn the situation around, people believe that MDP’s Cash for Vote program is not be money “given”, but money “returned”.

The anger and the hopelessness of the destitute becomes apparent listening to the FM Radio Call shows in Male. For sure, they are not all choreographed and premeditated though some maybe. The vast majority of the callers appear to be speaking impromptu with emotion. Those calls tell a story about our future. If one was to crap these cries as just radio hogwash, it doubtlessly is a reflection of the measure and degree of delusion he is living with.

All eyes are now on PPM.  MDP is worried to their last tooth.  President Nasheed has kick-started his Presidential race already. The recklessness of the president in his haste to win is making mistakes, video tapes of him arguing with the public who don’t see eye to eye with are been made public. Bear in mind, he has a ton of restless and disgruntled members within his party ranks. Sources inside MDP confirm that Mr. Didi; MDP President are Mr. Moosa Maniku (Reeko) are prepared for any eventuality if and when required.  “There is a moment of time in our lives when we simply have to stand up and say enough is enough.  That time has now come.” said MDP insider.

It is unconceivable that any political party will rally behind MDP in 2013. So it will go solo.  We then look at the two next big parties. The PPM and the DRP, both of which are the makings of ex-President Maumoon (the Political Party Maker) success will depend on the party that manages most amount of productive tie ups (obviously). This is not rocket science or something for which a British con artist should be hired at a cost of couple of hundred thousand US Dollars.

Surprisingly, people still love and adore Mr. Gayoom. If that is the wish of the people, we have to respect it and Mr. Gayoom.  If at all possible in the first round, it would be “Maumoonamania” that could sway the tide to win the general election of 2013. There is nothing called “Anniamania” and there never will be. However, there is something called “Aniya mania” an obsession the President is suffering from, and the people hate him for that.
